  4. - 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  5. - 1/4 cup fresh parsley leaves
  6. - 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  7. - 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  8. - 1 garlic clove, minced
  9. - 1/2 teaspoon salt
  10. - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  11. - Cherry tomatoes, halved
  12. - Kalamata olives, pitted and halved
  13. - Red onion, thinly sliced
  14. Instructions:
  15. 1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  16. 2. In a food processor or blender, combine the fresh basil leaves, parsley leaves, garlic clove, salt, black pepper, and olive oil. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  17. 3. Add the grated Parmesan cheese to the pesto mixture and stir well.
