Feather Soufflé Rolls with Shrimp Filling Cheese Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 1/2 lb. cooked and peeled shrimp
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually whisk in the eggs, milk, melted butter, white pepper, and vanilla extract. Mix until a smooth batter forms.
3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the soufflé comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
4. In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, celery, red onion, cooked shrimp, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly distributed.
5. Once the soufflé has cooled, carefully remove it from the baking dish. Using a sharp knife, slice it horizontally into thin strips.
6. Place one strip of soufflé on each plate. Spread a generous amount of shrimp filling cheese onto each strip of soufflé, leaving about 1 inch at the end.
7. Roll up the soufflé tightly and serve immediately.
Tips:
- For a more colorful presentation, sprinkle fresh chopped herbs such as parsley or chives on top of the soufflés before serving.
- If you prefer a spicier filling, add some diced jalapeno peppers to the shrimp filling cheese mixture.
- For added texture, you can also include some chopped nuts like almonds or walnuts in the filling.
