- Fennel Smoked Salmon Recipe

- Ingredients:

- - 1 lb of fresh salmon fillet
- - 2 fennel bulbs
- - 1/4 cup of honey
- - 1/4 cup of soy sauce
- - 1/4 cup of maple syrup
- - 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- - 1 tbsp of smoked paprika
- - Salt and pepper to taste

- Instructions:

- 1. Preheat your smoker to 200°F. If you don't have a smoker, you can use an electric grill or a cast iron skillet.

- 2. Clean the salmon fillet and remove any bones or skin. Cut the salmon into even slices.

- 3. Prepare the fennel bulbs by removing the outer layer of green leaves and slicing them in half lengthwise.

- 4. In a bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, maple syrup, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

- 5. Place a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet.

- 6. Brush the fennel bulbs with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

- 7. Place the fennel bulbs cut side up on the parchment paper-lined baking sheet.

- 8. Season both sides of the salmon fillet with salt and pepper.

- 9. Place the salmon fillet in between the fennel halves, skin side down.

- 10. Brush the salmon fillet with the honey garlic soy maple mixture.

- 11. Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil and place it on the preheated smoker or electric grill.

- 12. Cook for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and cook for another 15 minutes until the salmon is cooked through.

- 13. Remove the salmon from the fennel halves and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes before slicing.

- 14. Serve your smoked salmon with crusty bread, crackers, or as part of a charcuterie board. Enjoy!
