  14. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  15. Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  16. Step 3: Add in the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until a smooth batter forms.
  17. Step 4: Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish. Spread the filled rhubarb compote over the batter, leaving about 1 inch of space around the edges.
  18. Step 5: Pour the remaining batter over the top of the compote and spread it out evenly.
