* 4 pork chops (thick cut)
* 1 large onion (sliced thinly)
* 2 cloves garlic (minced)
* 2 tablespoons butter
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
* 1/4 teaspoon paprika
* 1/4 teaspoon cumin
* 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
* 2 cups beef broth
* 1 cup heavy cream
* Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Steps
French Onion Smothered Pork Chops Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 pork chops
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 large onions, sliced into thin strips
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and cook for about 5 minutes on each side until browned.
4. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
5. In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and minced garlic. Cook for about 10-15 minutes or until the onions are softened and caramelized.
6. Pour in the white wine, beef broth, thyme, and rosemary. Stir well to combine.
7. Add the pork chops back into the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over the top of them.
8. Cover the skillet with aluminum foil and transfer it to the preheated oven.
9. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the pork chops are fully cooked.
