Garlic Mashed Potatoes with Roasted Garlic Cheddar and Bacon Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped into small pieces
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 cup of milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices of bacon, chopped
- 1 head of garlic, peeled and halved
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Step 2: In a large pot, boil the chopped potatoes in salted water until they are tender. Drain and return them to the pot.
Step 3: Add the minced garlic and butter to the potatoes and mash with a fork or potato masher.
Step 4: Gradually stir in the milk until the mashed potatoes have reached your desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 5: While the potatoes are boiling, chop the bacon into small pieces and fry it in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
Step 6: Place the halved head of garlic in an oven-safe dish and drizzle with olive oil. Roast in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the garlic is golden brown and soft.
Step 7: Once the garlic is ready, remove it from the oven and let it cool down slightly. Squeeze out the roasted garlic and add it to the mashed potatoes.
Step 8: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped bacon until well combined.
Step 9: Serve the garlic mashed potatoes with roasted garlic cheddar and bacon hot and enjoy!
