  1. To prepare a green tomato and apple chutney rice recipe, cut the green tomatoes in half and remove the seeds. Peel the apple and cut it into quarters. Place the quartered apples in the bottom of the crock pot. Add the water and bring to boil. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer until the vegetables are tender, about 30 minutes. Remove from heat and add the rice. Serve with sour cream, if desired.
