  1. To prepare a spicy creole chili recipe, combine the following ingredients: 1 pound diced tomatoes, 1 cup chopped onions, 2 tablespoons each chopped garlic and thyme, and 1 teaspoon each kosher salt and cayenne pepper. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes are soft and the onions are translucent, about 30 minutes. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, garlic powder and tomato paste. Cover and simmer on low heat for 1 hour. Serve with sour cream.
