  1. To prepare the suckling pig for roasting, you'll need: 1 lb (450 g) pork, 1 cup (240 ml) vegetable stock, 2 lbs (60 oz) beans, and 1 1/2 cups (120 milliliters) rice. Place the pork in a large, heavy-bottomed pot and cover it with water. Bring the water to boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer until it's tender, about 1 hour. Remove it from the stove and let it rest for 10 minutes. Add the vegetables, beans and rice to the pot. Simmer, covered, for 30 minutes, or until the liquid is reduced by half.
