  1. To prepare a turnip bake, you'll first need to prepare your ingredients. Cut the turnips in half lengthwise, and then cut each half into 12 inch slices. Place the slices in the bottom of an 8 x 8-inch baking dish. Pour the vegetable oil into the dish and add the chopped garlic. Sprinkle the paprika on top of the garlic, then sprinkle with the salt and pepper to taste. Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender. Serve warm.
