  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Add the butter and beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Gradually add the milk, beating well after each addition. Sift the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the vanilla. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
