  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Stir in the walnuts. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of an 8 x8-inch baking pan. Bake the bars for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the edges are brown and the center springs back when lightly touched. Let cool before cutting into bars.
