  1. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a large bowl. Add the butter and beat until fluffy. Gradually add the milk, beating well after each addition. Pour the batter into the greased and floured cake pan. Bake in the oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until the cake springs back when lightly touched. Let cool before cutting into squares.
