  1. To prepare a steak skewer, you'll first need to prepare your steak. Cut the steak into 12 inch (1.3 cm) cubes. Place the cubed steak in the middle of sourdough bread crumbs. Roll the shredded steak around the breadcrumbs until it's about 1/4 inch thick. Using your hands, form the meat into 4 equal-sized patties. Brush the outside of each patty with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Heat the oil to medium-high heat, then add the cut steak to the pan and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
