  1. To prepare a steak soup recipe, add the following ingredients to the pot: 1 pound boneless, skinless sirloin steak, 2 tablespoons butter, 1 teaspoon each thyme and kosher salt, and 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper. Cover and cook on medium-high heat until the meat is no longer pink, about 1 hour. Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon butter and 1 cup chopped parsley. Simmer on low heat, covered, for 30 minutes or until thickened. Serve with sour cream, if desired.
